Brodie's 16th Birthday!

Here are my 2 beautiful vintage rose hooks. I just fell in love with them and had to bring them home. If you haven't been reading my blog, I have just been to Canberra to visit Jackie and her gorgeous family. She cheekily showed me this adorable vintage shop and I fell in love with everything in there, so for me to just walk out with 2 hooks was a miracle!!

Here is the card I made for my 'baby' Brodie who is turning 16 this week. "Happy Birthday my gorgeous man".
So proud to have such a beautiful natured and well mannered son. Although he 'towers' over me, he is still my 'baby' (1st born) and he deserves all the happiness and success coming his way.

I've used this Mo digital image as this is Brodie playing his xbox 360. I've coloured him using my copics and used Kaisercraft paper. The ticket stub is from Allissa Designs.
I had so much trouble putting this card together. What could go wrong did go wrong. I couldn't even find my snail to be able to stick it together! How crazy is that?! Well it's finished now and although I see where all my struggles were with this card, I like how it turned out.
Also a big "Happy Birthday" to my Dad today.
("you look like a monkey and you smell like one too!")

Greeting Farm Digi

Well as promised here is my creation I made with Jackie!
This is a Greeting Farm Digi image. Isn't she gorgeous. Love those big eyes.

I coloured her with my copics (who now have a new home. Check Jackie's blog!)
Most of this is a kit which I purchased from Bec. Check out her new heart pins. Aren't they adorable?! The sentiment is SU and adhered to a big shot die. The flowers came in the kit also except for the pink ones which I 'borrowed' from Jack!
I had coloured another image ready to put onto a card but it ended with a minor mishap! Didn't it Jackie!!! We had just finished discussing how to white highlight images when we'd finished colouring them and not wanting to do too much as we might mess them up and then have to start again. Well Jack's white pen was playing up a bit and she passed it over to me so I could just add a dot on her cheeks (as didn't want to highlight all over and wreck it). Well would you believe it, the pen had a nose bleed! Seriously. White ink poured out and my beautiful finished image had a dot alright....a huge dot which was larger than her cheek!! After a bit of squeeling and lots of laughter it was decided to either make the sentiment her talking bubble and cover the spot or better still start again!! Yep, I'll do it again. Any excuse to colour.
I played with Jackie's big shot and cut around a few images ready to place on a card. I also cut out a couple of scrolls. One I've used on the above card underneath the sentiment. So cute. YES, now I want one.
We did a lot of sight seeing, a lot of talking, a little shopping, a little crafting, a little online shopping, a little wine tasting (hee hee) and a whole lot of laughing and catching up. Absolutely wonderful. Her family are so beautiful and made us all so welcome.
Jackie has more on our stay here.
Thanks for stopping by.

My 1st Ustamp project

Well the kids and I are back safe and sound from visiting Jackie and her family in Canberra. We had a fabulous time with them all and it all went way too quickly. Saying good-bye a 2nd time was still so painful especially for my 3 year old daughter. I think she finally understood what was happening. She's realised that her Auntie Jack lives in a different house, a long drive away and she just didn't want to go home. Yep, the tears flowed again!
I'm sure most of you would like to see what we got up to and what we created but I'm going to tease you a bit longer yet. It's still so painfully raw leaving AGAIN and I want to highlight the good times. So STAY TUNED!!
Here is a project I made today to take my thoughts away to my partner who is deployed at the moment.
A quick and easy project from Ustamp. This is called a "Love You Fun Fold Out" which was created by Jenn Picard. (Dream Team Member from Canada).
I joined Ustamp for some inspiration when my mojo went on holidays :)

This is how it would sit open when on display.
The paper is SU Parisian Breeze. It's a thicker card so is perfect for these kinds of projects.
I've matted the photos in Very Vanilla and Kraft cs from SU.

When you open the back section, you will find an area to write a personal message.

And lastly, this is the back closed by a brad.
Told you! Quick and easy. Well, it would have been if my printer hadn't decided to have a spat! lol. When in doubt (and before you throw it out the front door!), restart your computer and begin all over again. Hey, it worked!!

I'll be posting this off to my partner along with his favourite (not mine!) chocolate coated aniseed rings. Blah! A little something I brought back from Canberra. Nooo, don't mention Canberra again!

Hope you're all well and I hope our Aussie bloggers had a great Australia Day!

Experimenting

I've been playing around with my new Greeting Farm Stamps. This one is called "Stella". {yes, I have coloured her in pink as well :) }
I coloured her using my copics. I also coloured the blue/green flower with my copics. (1st time). Then the largest flower, paper doilie and my lace I tried to spray with my 'Creme de Chocolat' glimmer mist (still don't like this one!) and then I sprayed 'Pearl' glimmer mist (my favourite!) over the top to add a bit of shine. Just playing around!!

The patterned paper is Bec's and the plain paper is SU Really Rust. The clear drops and tulip heart charm are also from Bec's.
Thanks for stopping by!

Got some help!!

Nooo, not help from a Doctor but from a blogging friend.
My mojo seems to be on a break some I took some advice from Merry and took a tour of the blogging world.
This is what I found! I checked out Chic 'n Scratch this morning and she shared a tutorial on this clever little box.

You can tape all the sides to form a box or only tape part of the corners so it can fold flat. That way you can post it to a friend. I think it's very clever and so quick and easy. (especially for me at the moment. Where are you Mojo? Come back!)
The front closure is a 1/2" circle with a brad.
This is the box lying flat. Do you like it?
I used SU Ruby Red, Chocolate chip and Bella Rose DP. Ruby Red ink and the stamp from "Bella's Bloom".

Hope you're all having a crafty Monday!

No Mojo

My mojo seems to be taking a break at the moment. I hope it's only a short one.
I didn't want to leave you too long without showing you a creation, so I found one through the archives. It a gift card and note holder. Not sure where this idea came from now. It's out there in blog land somewhere. If you desperately want me to find the link for you just let me know and I'll see if I can chase it up.

It's all made up with Stampin' Up product except for the pink ribbon. The stamp set is 'Priceless'. This is the front with little pockets front and back for cards.
Below is one of the cards with it's own little envelope holder.

Below is the inside.
On the left is a pocket to hold 4 little gift cards, 3 x 3. On the right is a pen holder and note pad. The note pad is attached with velcro dots so you can replace it later on.

I hope you like it.

When my mojo decides to come back you will all be the 1st to know.

In the mean time I am enjoying visiting all of your projects. You ladies are a very clever and creative bunch!!

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend.

Car crazy!

Here is another couple of the Bugaboo images.
I can post this 1st one now as I know Jackie and her family have received it. It was for a 'welcome to your new home' and 'hope you all made it safe' kinda card.
A quick and easy card made with SU paper kit I had left out on my desk. I wanted to get it in the mail quickly so Jackie would have some mail when she moved into her house. They've just got a new car too, so I thought she would appreciate the sentiment!

This 2nd card is for my Dad's birthday which is at the end of this month. Yes, I'm ahead of myself!
Dad is always stirring my Mum and making jokes that only he can see as funny, so when I seen this image I just had to have it. There are so many funny 'Gus' ones.

I used SU Sahara Sand for the card base and layering and then some scraps from my scrap draw. The punch is SU and I also used some SU Sahara Sand ribbon. I didn't embellish it too much as I don't think Dad would appreciate flowers and bling! BUT.. you just never know!
Having a 'blue' day. My bestie has moved, my 2 eldest kids are away on holidays and my partner is deployed. I have been REALLY good but today for some reason I lost it. Maybe 'cause it's Monday? Who knows? Now no one panic and call 000, it's good to vent and sometimes sit and let it all out! That's all I was doing. I have my baby girl (well she's 3) here with me and she certainly knows how to entertain and tell tall tales!!
I've been keeping busy and although I can't scrap with Jackie, I did the next best thing and scrapped with HER MUM yesterday! She's a hoot! (waving Louise). She normally has ink everywhere but she must've been on her best behaviour yesterday. Not a mark anywhere to be seen. Give her time to settle in!! ;)
Hope everyone is well and coping with our extreme weather everywhere!

"Izzy"

Yes, I'm back again! So many cards, so little time.

I love this stamp from The Greeting Farm. She's called Izzy from the Twinkle Tots series. I've had her coloured for awhile and decided it was time to give her a proper home on a card!

The cs is SU Creamy Caramel and the sentiment is SU Totally Tabs stamps in Creamy Caramel ink. The gorgeous flowers have been glimmer misted and they are from Bec's online store. The smaller flowers are from Wild Orchid. The patterned paper, satin ribbon and pearl ribbon slide are also from Bec. Love these embellishments from Bec's online store.

I thought I might enter this card into 2 challenges. The Totally Gorjuss challenge of a 'Thankyou card' and Anyone for Anya 'Anything Goes' challenge.

Yes look at that. I've progressed from 1 card, 1 challenge to now 1 card, 2 challenges. Wonders will never cease and I think I have them right this time. lol.

Memo Holder

ADDED: A few of you have asked where I got this image. Here is the link. There is also a sale on the 'Pure Innocence' range on her blog.
This is a little memo holder I made using the tutorial from Whiff of Joy Inspriations blog.
Very easy to follow and quick and fun to make.

This is the inside. I'm yet to add some note paper but still trying to figure out what to stamp on the top of the pages. You use A4 copy paper cut into 4.

I used a Heather-Ellis digi image and coloured her in with my copics. She has some fantastic images. I'll hopefully show you some more soon.
I used SU designer paper and Baja Breeze inked with Close to Cocoa ink. The edge punch is also SU eyelet punch. The ribbon was from my stash.
This was lots of fun and I kept it simple. I hope you have the chance to make one too.

Easel Card

Well finally I get around to making one of these easel cards.
I've used a Magnolia image that Jackie stamped for me before she left. In fact this card has Jackie all over it. She of course will have a dig at me for having the colour red on my card, the doillie is from her and she taught me how to make the flower with her big shot dies. The scallop cirlcle punch is the 1st punch we got together and then the oval scallop punch was a freebie that Jackie passed on to me. What a lucky girl I am to have such a beautiful friend.
Sigh, miss her heaps already!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful, crafty day!

Filling in time.

What do you do to pass the time when you find yourself pacing, thinking of the moment when it'll be time to say 'good-bye' to your dearest friend and her beautiful family before they move away? Make a card of course!!
I never thought it would to be so difficult and sooo emotional to say good-bye to our friends today. I just kept saying to myself 'be strong, you'll see them again soon' and then I was saying aloud 'I'm not going to cry'. Well, we all sobbed like babies. (Yep, and here I go starting again!). It's become a sort of tradition to stand in our driveway and wave to them as they leave our street and drive away. Could NOT do that today. Way too hard. Jackie even sobbed walking out the door 'don't come out' and I just shook my head to say I wouldn't. There was no way I could do that today. Talk about ripping my heart out.
Oh dear, another tissue please!
On to a happier note hey?
My dear friend Jackie found this great digi image (among others) at Bugaboo. I just love their sentiments that go with each image.
I sat and made this card this afternoon to kill the time. (I was going mad!)
All the paper is stampin' up and I've distressed the edges. (I call that 'therapy') The buttons and flowers are from my stash and of course I coloured her with my trusty copics.

Here is a close up of the sentiment. Don't you just love it? It went so well with my house today as well. (no, there are no photos of that!)
Thankyou all for stopping by and listening to the rants of a sooky woman.

I don't do Yellow.

My 2nd post. Please scroll down for my 1st.

I really don't like the brighter colours such as yellow, orange and red. I like the 'dirtier' (vintage )colours and softer tones. My fav colour combo is pink and green and a bit of chocolate never hurts!

I thought I'd try and make a card with a colour I don't normally use, just for something different. I also went back to the standard size rather than the square I have been making lately. Mmmm, I think I will go back to what I know and like.

I made this card with the Totally Gorjuss challenge in mind which is a Thankyou card.

I might try again. I think I need more Gorjuss stamps. (sshh, don't tell my partner. He thinks I have enough. We all know that we can never have too much!)

Thanks for stopping by.

"Happy 18th Erin"

"Happy 18th Birthday Erin"
We're off tonight to help Erin celebrate her 18th Birthday. She so deserves a 'fun' night with her friends as she has been studying so hard at school. It paid off as she got Dux of her school, received a few scholarships and best of all, got into the Uni she was striving for. So much to celebrate. Congrats Ez. Very proud of you and the young woman you are blossoming into.

This is a Greeting Farm digi image called Summer Fairy. I used my copics to colour her, added some bling and glitter and then some of Bec's gorgeous flowers all glimmer misted up. (is that a word? misted?) Anyway this is not about my poor spelling, it's about the card right?
Hope you like it.
